Programs

Information design and communication programs are designed to meet your needs, whether you are a practicing technical communicator, information designer or content specialist, or making a transition into this career. You can choose between online graduate certificates in Technical Communication and advanced topics or apply for the M.S. degree program which combines classroom and online instruction.

Master of Science in Information Design and Communication (MSIDC)

Begun in 1988, the Master of Science in Information Design and Communication (MSIDC) program has graduated students in many fields of technical communication and information design.

Graduate Certificates in Technical Communication

Delivered entirely online, our Graduate Certificates offer students around the world an opportunity to update their career skills. Students can earn a Technical Communication Certificate, or they can choose to further their education by earning additional certificates. Students who have successfully completed the Graduate Technical Communication Certificate program are eligible to apply for one of the Advanced Certificates. Upon successful completion of an Advanced Certificate, students receive the MSIDC degree.

Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology, Christchurch, New Zealand Partnership

Graduates of the Diploma in Information Design from Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology in Christchurch, New Zealand, may transfer all credits from that program if admitted to the MSIDC program. Not all courses in the MSIDC program are available online.  However, the program guarantees that at least one course per semester will be offered online.
