MS in Information Design and Communication
Students in the Master of Science in Information Design & Communication (MSIDC) program can take a combination of campus-based, online, and hybrid courses to fulfill their degree requirements. MSIDC students choose one of the following three program options (all of which require completion of 36 hours).
Master's Internship Option
Students selecting this option must complete the 6-hour Master's Internship. They must also finish 30 hours of coursework.†
† When taking the internship, students may enroll in a maximum of 9 hours per semester hours of internship plus two courses or 6 hours of internship plus one course).
Master's Thesis Option
Students selecting this option must complete the Master's Thesis (6 hour minimum). They must also finish 30 hours of course work.‡
‡ When taking the thesis, students may enroll in a maximum of 9 hours per semester; which include no more than 3 hours of thesis per semester. For exceptions, students should petition the department chair.
All Coursework Option
Students selecting this option must complete 36 hours of coursework.
Note: A grade of "B" or better is required in all courses that are applied toward the 36 hours required for graduation (with the exception of the internship and thesis, which require an "S").
