Our Students

IDC students enter the program with a variety of academic backgrounds, from English and Communication to Business and Computer Science. Some already have a graduate degree and are looking to make a career switch into communication. Many IDC students already have work experience, while others are recent college graduates. What they all have in common is a belief in the critical importance of clear communication in an information-intensive world.

The IDC program might be right for you if you are:

• Working in a communications capacity but without any formal education in writing, communication, or design
• Interested in making a career change into a communications-related field, such as public relations, marketing, corporate or non-profit communications, writing for the Web, graphic design, instructional design, or usability testing
• Seeking to advance your career with a graduate degree or certificate
• Interested in furthering your education at an accredited university but have professional or personal responsibilities that would make it difficult to attend on-campus courses at fixed times each week
