Laura A. Palmer joined the faculty at SPSU in the fall of 2008. She has taught technical communication in both the US and Canada for the last eight years. Dr. Palmer holds a Ph.D. in Technical Communication & Rhetoric from Texas Tech University; her M.A. in Technical Communication is also from Texas Tech and her B.A. is from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

Her recent article, “Considering Bias in Government Audit Reports: Factors That Influence the Judgments of Internal Government Auditors” appears in the July 2008 issue of the Journal of Business Communication. Her current research compares popular plagiarism detection software programs and examines the implications these programs have for teaching and learning.
