English 1102

English 1102 is the second of two comp classes required for graduation. In this course, you’ll build on the skills you developed in 1101.

  • How to read critically
  • How to respond to the ideas of others in writing
  • How to use advanced research techniques, on- and off-line.

 

What to expect in 1102

  • Reading and discussing essays
  • Responding to the ideas of others in writing
  • Conducting one or more research projects
  • Getting to know your instructor one-on-one

 

Looking for something different?

English 1102 is often offered as a special topics class. Special topics classes, offered in the spring, count toward your 1102 requirement, and they focus on a particular subject or genre.
