Applying to the Master’s Degree Program After Completing the Graduate Certificate in Technical Communication
Admission requirements
Note: Completion of the certificate program does not guarantee admission to the master's program. Certificate program graduates who are applying to the master’s degree program do not need to take the GRE.
- Certificate program graduates must submit a professional portfolio
which will be reviewed by the admissions committee.
Transfer of credits
Certificate program graduates who are accepted into the master's degree program may count the six regular three-credit courses they have completed (18 credits) toward the master's degree, which represents one half of the coursework required for the MSIDC degree.
Admission procedure
Because they will be attending on-campus classes, graduates of the certificate program who wish to apply to the master’s degree program must submit a new certificate of immunization to the SPSU Admissions Office. (These applicants should not sign the waiver at the bottom of the form.)
