POSITION SUMMARY
The English, Technical Communication, and Media Arts Department at Southern Polytechnic State University invites applications for a Lecturer position in Communication, with a primary emphasis in performance/public speaking, pending final budgetary approval. Other ranks will be considered. SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic city of Marietta.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a Master’s in Performance Studies, Communication, or a closely related field. Preference given to candidates with the academic and/or professional background appropriate for teaching Drama Appreciation. Responsibilities include teaching 15 credit hours each semester of public speaking and other performance-related courses, including drama appreciation, plus coordination of the undergraduate competitive forensics team. The Lecturer position is a renewable, non-tenure track position. An interest in developing upper level performance studies courses appropriate to the degrees offered in our department is desirable.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
