PROGRAM SPECIALIST (Auxiliary Services)                                                                          08–303

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a professional position where the Program Specialist is responsible for marketing and promotion of on-campus housing.  Responsible for customer service for potential residents.  Responsible for the contract process for each resident from application to move-out. The Program Specialist reports to the Director of Housing and Residence Life.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1.       Market housing on campus (to current students) and off campus (to potential students).

  2.       Solicits contracts from potential residents.

  3.       Communicate the terms of the contract to new leasers.

  4.       Enter any new contract information into the housing software.

  5.       Run reports for Director concerning occupancy, room availability and leasing levels.

  6.       Work with the Assistant Director of Operations to facilitate move in and move out.

  7.       Work with the Assistant Director of Operations to assign rooms.

  8.       Work with the Assistant Director of Operations to communicate with current residents any news or changes in housing.

  9.       Work with the Coordinator of Residence Life to ensure that room inspections are done efficiently and effectively and that residents are notified.

10.        Keep abreast of any housing laws that are pertinent on a college campus and communicate those to the Director for his or her determination on implementation.

11.        Input all necessary data into Banner and/or RMS to ensure a fully functioning housing operation.

12.        Master all software used in the housing operation.

13.         Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Housing and Residence Life.

 

 

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

1.         Excellent computer skills and ability to master housing software.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree in higher education administration or a related field plus a minimum of two years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.  A master’s degree in higher education administration or a related field preferred.  Previous experience in Residence Life within a college / University setting strongly desired.

 

 

DAYS/HOURS: Summer Hours: Monday – Thursday; 7:30am – 6:00pm; Friday - CLOSED

                           Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm (Regular Hours Effective: 8/11/08)

 

 

SALARY:           Commensurate with experience
