PROGRAM COORDINATOR (Office of Continuing Education) 08–295

This is a professional exempt position that reports to the Director of Continuing Education. The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, administering, managing and coordinating certificate and open enrollment programs as well as specialized training courses in the areas of business, communication, high-tech computing and quality for the Office of Continuing Education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Conducting sales of training classes (must generate a minimum of $400K + annually).
2. Establishes and maintains contacts with businesses.
3. Initiates and does a follow up on calls to businesses and corporations.
4. Reviews and establishes appropriate curriculum and materials.
5. Develops, markets, implements, and administers Office of Continuing Education certificate and open enrollment courses.
6. Creates and manages budgets for all programs.
7. Responsible for program development, delivery, evaluation, records management, ordering of program materials, scheduling courses and coordination with the Office of Continuing Education Lab Manager.
8. Provides guidance for potential and current participants.
9. Maintains a course catalog of viable innovative programs.
10. Initiates and conducts sales seminars for target training needs.
11. Solves customer concerns and provide customer support.
12. Interview, select and supervise training course instructors.
13. File maintenance; evaluates and recommends training materials.
14. Writes proposals and develops budgets for training courses.
15. Provides support to the Office of Continuing Education program development staff.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
1. Working knowledge of Continuing Education and/or higher education experience is desirable.
2. Program development and/or training experience is very desirable.
3. Ability to handle multiple tasks, possess strong organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
4. Possess excellent customer service skills.
5. Working knowledge of budget preparation, implementation and management.
6. Previous experience in program development and/or project management.
QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of four years administrative and/or office management work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required.
DAYS/HOURS: Monday – Friday; 9:00am – 6:00pm
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
