LECTURER, ENGLISH/ GENERALIST

POSITION SUMMARY
The English, Technical Communication, and Media Arts Department at Southern Polytechnic State University invites applications for a Lecturer position in English, with a primary emphasis in freshmen and sophomore level general education courses, pending final budgetary approval. SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic city of Marietta.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a Master’s in English or a closely related field. Preference given to candidates with a broad range of teaching interests appropriate to the degrees offered in our department. Responsibilities include teaching 15 credit hours each semester of composition, technical writing, and sophomore-level literature surveys, as needed. The Lecturer position is a renewable, non-tenure track position. Applicants who are not U.S. citizens must state visa type and authorization for permanent employment in the U.S.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
