POSITION SUMMARY

                                                                                                                                                                       

Southern Polytechnic State University seeks applications for a tenure track faculty position in a TAC-ABET accredited baccalaureate Mechanical Engineering Technology program, starting August 2010 or sooner at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. QUALIFICATIONS

 

Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field and recent, relevant industry experience in manufacturing processes including machining and welding.  Teaching experience, PE registration, and a Ph.D. are also desirable. The successful applicant will teach and coordinate labs in manufacturing processes including conventional and NC machining and other manufacturing courses, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.  The applicant will participate in course and laboratory development, advise students, and pursue scholarly activities.  The applicant must demonstrate competence in the use of written and oral communications.

 

SALARY:      Commensurate with experience
