ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF THERMAL/FLUIDS (Mechanical Engineering Technology) 08-265

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY                                                                                                                              

The Mechanical Engineering Technology Department at Southern Polytechnic State University seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in a TAC-ABET accredited baccalaureate Mechanical Engineering Technology program, starting August 2008 at the Assistant Professor level (other ranks considered). SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic city of Marietta.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications required are a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (masters degree considered) and relevant industrial experience, preferably in the Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning industry.  Teaching experience and professional registration are also desirable. The successful applicant will teach in the areas of Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Refrigeration, HVAC, and Power Generation as well as general courses in MET.   The applicant will participate in course and laboratory development, advise students, and pursue scholarly activities.

 

 

 

SALARY:       Commensurate with experience
