POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Engineering Technology Department at Southern Polytechnic State University seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in a TAC-ABET accredited baccalaureate Mechanical Engineering Technology program, starting August 2008 at the Assistant Professor level (other ranks considered). SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic city of Marietta.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications required are a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (masters degree considered) and relevant industrial experience. Teaching experience and professional registration are also desirable. Applicant should be experienced in instrumentation and controls. The successful applicant will also teach in the areas of Manufacturing Automation, Computer Numerical Control, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, as well as general courses in Mechatronics Engineering and possibly MET.   The applicant will participate in course and laboratory development, advise students, and pursue scholarly activities.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
