POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineering Technology Department at Southern Polytechnic State University seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in a TAC-ABET accredited baccalaureate Mechanical Engineering Technology program, starting August 2008 at the Assistant Professor level (other ranks considered). SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic city of Marietta.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications required are a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (masters degree considered) and relevant industrial experience. Teaching experience and professional registration are also desirable. Applicant should be experienced in the fabrication and analysis of polymer and composite materials as well as design of composite structures. The successful applicant will also teach Engineering Materials and general courses in MET. The applicant will participate in course and laboratory development, advise students, pursue scholarly activities, and seek industry cooperative opportunities.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
