ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/LECTURER (Mathematics) 08-263
POSITION SUMMARY
The Mathematics Department at Southern Polytechnic State University invites applications for one or more positions at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-track, higher ranks considered) and/or non tenure-track lecturer to begin August 2008. SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic city of Marietta.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications required for the Assistant Professor position; Tenure track assistant professor applicants must have a Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field. Responsibilities include 12 hours of teaching per semester, professional development, scholarly activity, and service. Applicants for lecturer positions must have either a Masters degree in mathematics or a closely related field, or an advanced degree in any field and at least 18 graduate semester hours of mathematics. Responsibilities include 15 hours of teaching per semester, professional development and service. Applicants from all areas of mathematics are invited to apply. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
