ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrical Engineering Program at Southern Polytechnic State University, Marietta, Georgia (www.spsu.edu) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Electrical Engineering at the assistant professor level (other ranks considered) to begin Fall 2010. The Electrical Engineering Program offers a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. This is a particularly exciting time for SPSU with three new undergraduate degrees in engineering recently started in Fall 2009 along with four others which started just a few years prior. The university is one of the fastest growing in the USG system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Industrial experience is required. Applicants who are Licensed Professional Engineers in Georgia or who have the ability to obtain licensing within 3 years of appointment will be given preference. Candidates must demonstrate the potential for scholarly research and professional development. The applicant must have the ability to initiate research programs and a dedication to undergraduate and graduate teaching. All faculty are expected to contribute to the distance education effort. The program is particularly interested in applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas: communications, embedded systems, power (including alternate energies), and nanotechnology.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
