COORDINATOR FOR STUDENT CENTER OPERATIONS (Student Activities) 08–298

This is a non-exempt position where the Coordinator of Student Center Operations is responsible for will supervising the daily operations of the Southern Polytechnic State University Student Center and student assistant staff. The Coordinator of Student Center Operations will also provide administrative assistance for professional staff in the Student Activities/Dean of Students office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Supervise daily operation of SPSU Student Center including room set-up/furniture arrangement, audio/visual, and maintenance needs.
2. Supervise work of Student Center student assistant staff.
3. Answer phone calls and receive visitors to Student Activities/Dean of Students office. Provide clerical support to three professional staff positions.
4. Operate and maintain a variety of sophisticated audio and visual equipment including theater and ballroom PA systems, video projectors, and laptops.
5. Works closely with all on- and off-campus users of Student Center facilities.
6. Works with Assistant Director of Student Center Operations and maintains centralized campus scheduling system.
7. Type, file, make copies, maintain office records and perform other office duties as necessary.
8. Monitor office supplies and order as necessary.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
1. Physical mobility & sufficient strength to move student center tables and furniture.
2. Must possess excellent interpersonal & organizational skills and have good attention to detail.
3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, associates, administrators, faculty, students, and community.
4. The employee is required to exercise considerable initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in performing building supervision and administrative work.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required, college degree preferred; Work experience in a university Student Center preferred.
DAYS/HOURS: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm
SALARY: $28,102 [minimum]
