ASSISTANT PROFESSOR of COMMUNICATION

POSITION SUMMARY
The English, Technical Communication, and Media Arts Department at Southern Polytechnic State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Communication, pending final budgetary approval. Other ranks will be considered. SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic city of Marietta.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Communication or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Preference given to candidates with professional experience in mass media, corporate communications, or web-based publishing. Responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours each semester of undergraduate Communication courses from among the following: Intro to Journalism, Business Communication, plus multiple sections of Public Speaking. The new hire will also be take part in expanding offerings in support of our Technical Communication and English and Professional Communication degree. The department is particularly interested in adding courses in public relations, marketing communication, and media studies.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
