ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CIVIL ENGINEERING-(Environmental Engineering)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Division of Engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University, Marietta, Georgia (www.spsu.edu) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Civil Engineering at the assistant professor level (other ranks considered) to begin Fall 2010.  This is a particularly exciting time for SPSU with six undergraduate degrees in engineering recently started. The University is one of the fastest growing in the University System of Georgia. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Minimum 3 years of industrial experience is required.  Applicants who are Licensed Professional Engineers in Georgia or who have the ability to obtain licensing within 3 years of appointment will be given preference.  Candidates must demonstrate the potential for scholarly research and professional development.  The applicant must have the ability to initiate research programs and a dedication to undergraduate teaching.  All faculty are expected to contribute to the distance education effort.  The program is particularly interested in applicants with expertise on the frontiers of environmental science and engineering. 

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
