POSITION SUMMARY                                                                                                                             

The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) invites applications for a full-time lecturer position.  Candidates are expected to teach using at least two (and preferably three) of the programming languages Java, C, C++, and C# on various platforms.  Successful candidates will have demonstrated teaching excellence and experience in teaching the introductory programming sequence (up to and including data structures) and with running closed labs at the college level.  Interest and experience teaching such courses online is desirable.
 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or higher in computer science or a closely related field.  The department seeks a candidate with a background and interest in the above-mentioned areas, as demonstrated by teaching experience and some published work and/or relevant software development experience.  The successful candidates will teach undergraduate courses in computer science and related areas, mentor students in our undergraduate programs in computing, and demonstrate scholarship of teaching. The position is for a 9-month appointment.

 

SALARY:      Commensurate with experience
