ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN GAME DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT (Computer Science/Software Engineering)    09-396

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY                                                                                                                             

The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level (other ranks considered).  Candidates with interests in game design, digital game development, 2D and 3D graphics, and digital arts and entertainment, are sought to teach both face-to-face and occasionally online for courses in our BS in Computer Game Design and Development and possibly the other degrees in Computer Science and Software Engineering.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must hold a terminal degree in a computing discipline or a games-related field.  The department seeks a candidate with a background and interest in computer games and digital entertainment as demonstrated by published work in game research, teaching experience in game curricula, and/or a portfolio of game development.  The successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in game design and development and computing, conduct research in related areas, and mentor students in our graduate and undergraduate programs in computing. The position is for a 9-month, tenure-track appointment.

 

SALARY:      Commensurate with experience
