ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY (Civil Engineering Technology) 08-256

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY                                                                                                                              

The Civil Engineering Technology Department at Southern Polytechnic State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor (other ranks considered) in the Civil Engineering Technology program beginning August 16, 2008. SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic City of Marietta.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required. Applicants must also have a minimum of three years of appropriate non-academic professional experience, plus expertise in one or more of the following areas:  geotechnical engineering; structural engineering; and construction materials. Design experience in heavy construction projects such as highways, bridges, dams, and tunnels is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the civil engineering technology program. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience in civil engineering or civil engineering technology and licensure as a Professional Engineer and/or ability to become licensed in Georgia.
