ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SURVEYING/MAPPING (Civil Engineering Technology) 08-254
POSITION SUMMARY
The Civil Engineering Technology Department at Southern Polytechnic State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor (other ranks considered) in the Surveying and Mapping program beginning August 16, 2008. SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic City of Marietta.
QUALIFICATIONS
A Ph.D. in Surveying and Mapping or a closely related field is preferred; candidates with an M.S. and strong experience will be considered. Applicants must also have a minimum of three years of appropriate non-academic professional experience, plus expertise in land surveying, boundary law, engineering surveys, title surveys, subdivision design, and GIS. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in both the surveying and mapping and civil engineering technology program courses. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience in surveying, engineering or engineering technology and the ability to teach other areas of Civil Engineering Technology.
