ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING (Civil Engineering Technology) 08-254
POSITION SUMMARY
The Civil Engineering Technology Department at Southern Polytechnic State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor (other ranks considered) in the Construction Engineering program beginning August 16, 2008. SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic City of Marietta.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in civil engineering, construction engineering, or closely related field with specialization in structural analysis/design and heavy construction practice such as highways, bridges, dams and tunnels, and a minimum of three years of appropriate non-academic professional experience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in both the construction engineering and civil engineering technology programs. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience in civil or construction engineering or engineering technology and licensure as a Professional Engineer and/or ability to become licensed in Georgia.
