ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)                     09-376

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

SPSU is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, offering degrees in science and technology related programs, including Bachelor's degrees in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.  Southern Polytechnic is located about 20 minutes northwest of Atlanta, Georgia in the historic city of Marietta.  See http://www.spsu.edu/hr/faculty.html for more information.  Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (other ranks considered), beginning the Fall semester of 2010.  We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in teaching at the undergraduate level.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

A Ph.D. in the Biological sciences is required and previous undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.  The successful candidate will teach upper-level undergraduate courses in Botany, Plant Physiology and/or Evolutionary Biology, in addition to Introductory Biology courses.  Strong candidates within other areas of expertise may also be considered.  Additional upper-level courses will be offered according to the expertise of the successful candidate.

 

SALARY:      Commensurate with experience
