POSITION SUMMARY

                                                                                                                                                                       

The Civil Engineering Technology Department at Southern Polytechnic State University invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professors (other ranks considered) in the Civil Engineering Technology program beginning August 16, 2010.   SPSU (www.spsu.edu) is a member institution in the University System of Georgia, located 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, in the historic City of Marietta

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

 

A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required.  Applicants must also have a minimum of three years of appropriate non-academic professional experience, plus expertise in transportation and highway engineering. Design experience in civil projects such as roads, bridges, pavement, GIS applications and other infrastructure projects is preferred.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the civil engineering technology program.  Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience in civil engineering or civil engineering technology and licensure as a Professional Engineering and/or ability to become licensed in Georgia.

 

SALARY:      Commensurate with experience.
