POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Architecture at Southern Polytechnic State University is seeking qualified applicants for full or half-time non-tenure track positions at the level of Lecturer, commencing in Fall, 2008. The Architecture Department is housed in a new state-of-the-art building in the Atlanta-metro area. The Department offers the only Accredited Bachelor of Architecture (5-year degree) in Georgia to approximately 500 students. The faculty encourages applied learning methods emphasizing hands-on exploration aimed at providing students with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to be productive, contributing leaders in the architectural profession and civic community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Architecture or a related professional discipline. The following additional qualifications are strongly preferred: 1) teaching experience at a college level; 2) professional registration or a Ph.D. in Architecture; and 3) a substantial body of professional practice.
Candidates should demonstrate expertise in teaching undergraduate design studio at the foundation and/or advanced levels with specific focus in one of the following areas:
