ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ARCHITECTURE (Architecture) 09-375

POSITION SUMMARY

The Department of Architecture at Southern Polytechnic State University is seeking qualified applicants for tenure track positions at the level of Assistant Professor, commencing in Fall, 2010.

The Architecture Department is housed in a new state-of-the-art building in the Atlanta-metro area. The Department offers the only Accredited Bachelor of Architecture (5-year degree) in Georgia to approximately 500+ students. The faculty encourages applied learning methods emphasizing hands-on exploration aimed at providing students with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to be productive, contributing leaders in the architectural profession and civic community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Architecture or a related professional discipline. The following additional qualifications are strongly preferred: 1) teaching experience at a college level; 2) professional registration or a Ph.D. in Architecture; and 3) a substantial body of professional practice.

• Early Design Studios: First and Second Year Design
• Specialization: Lighting/Day-lighting, Acoustics and Building Environment and/or a combination of

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
