Thesis and Capstone Guidelines

As you move to finishing your Honors course work at Southern Polytechnic State University, it is important that you complete your thesis or capstone paper in a timely manner using the proper format. Below you will find handouts that will help to ensure that all goes well.

Set Up a Timeline. This link will help you schedule your time so that you can finish the project in a semester.

Tianyi Li, a recent Honors Graduate, created the following Engineering templatewhen he was working with Dr. Thain. For those of you who are studying in the engineering fields, you may want to download it and use it. For those of you who are working in other fields, you can download it and modify it to meet the needs of your field. There is a Pdf file as well as a word document file. The Pdf file is available in case someone attempts to alter the actual word document.

A Statement to Borrowers. This link leads you to a Microsoft Work document set up as to ensure borrowers of you work know they must cite and acknowledge your work if they use any part of it in their own writing.

Create Your Poster Presentation. This links provides guidelines on setting up your poster for the poster presentation. that occurs at the end of the semester.
