Fall 2013 Newsletter

Christian Bourguillon (Editor), Rosie Price, Maria Guerra and Leah Givarz all contributed to the 1st issue of the 11th edition of the Honors Scholar, which has an article by Dr. Omidvar about his first semester as director and a report on the tree-planting activities of Honors students who helped Trees Atlanta.

Thanks to Christian Bourguillon (Editor), Taylor Sisson (Photographer and Writer) and staff members Logan McDonald, Nicholas Testin, Rory Charest, Pranita, Saraswatula, Maria Guerra, for their work on the 2nd issue of the 10th edition of the Honors Scholar.  Articles for the newsletter concern Dr. Reichert's farewell, stress and how students deal with it, the Color Run, fundraising for the year, student Shannon Hames, alumnus Nathan Atkins, and programs in the ETCMA department.  Enjoy!

Thanks to Dominic Fredo and his staff, the 2nd issue of the ninth edition of the Honors Scholar is ready for your viewing. Chris Evan has an article on our tab drive for the Ronald McDonald House. There is an article on trying to save the Honors House (we were unable to do so).  Dominic has his letter and finally there's an article concerning Game Night.  Enjoy!

This issue features an interview with Ms. Ann Parker, the Honors Assistant Director; information on fundraising activities, an interview with honors faculty member, Iraj Omidvar, an article by the International Mentoring Chair, Duong Ho, a cartoon by Sage Kelly,an update from our Social Director Lauren Tyus, and pictures and an article concerning the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference.

Thanks to Zazu Payne and his staff the seventh edition of the Honors Scholar is online! This issue has highlights from the Marietta Square Scarecrow Contest (We won for our SPSU scarecrow), the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference and the Susan G. Komen Fundraiser. It also contains articles on the new registration procedures and the new buildings being erected. Finally we have a piece of fiction by Sean Fine. I think he is going need another installation in the next edition so we know what happens next...

The first issue of the fifth edition of the Honors Scholar is available for viewing. Our new editor, Tipp Callier, has created a new look for the newsletter. This issue contains highlights and pictures from the Halloween Party, an interview with Honors teacher of the year, Ann Parker, as well as an editorial from Tipp among other items. Enjoy!

The second issue of the fourth edition of the Honors Scholar is available for viewing. It contains highlights and pictures from Ann Parker's Honors Composition II class visit to MUST Ministries, from the Honors Poster Session of final projects, and from the Honors Graduation Ceremony. It also contains an editorial from Nate Griffith concerning the Honors Program and keeping the "doors" to the program open.
