What advice would you give to new students?
I
would certainly advise new students to become familiar with their
adviser as soon as possible. That way, they can start choosing the
correct classes at an early stage in their college career.
What has been your best
SPSU
extra-curricular activity?
By
the far, the Forensics Speaking Team. This is my second year on the
team and I have been to about six different tournaments at schools such
as University of Alabama and Berry College. It is a great way to meet
people with the similar interests and here some rather intriguing
speeches and dramatic interpretations.
What has been your coolest
SPSU experience
so far?
As
of now, I have to say my coolest experience is being a Resident
Assistant on-campus. It gives me the ability to help a large amount of
the student body that lives on-campus. Creating and planning programs,
working in the community center, along with other duties, make the
experience of being an RA one to remember.
Why did you choose SPSU?
I
chose SPSU as my school, mainly because of its size and the attention
that I can get from professors. The fact that it had approximately 4200
students when I first arrived, showed me that it was nice environment
where I could focus on my studies.
Why did you
choose your major?
Information
Technology jumped out at me as major due to the fact that I
have been passion about computers since my middle school days. Being an
IT worker is basically what I have been in the neighborhoods I used to
live in. Diagnosing and solving computer related issues has always been
a hobby so I wanted to turn it into a career.
What has
been your favorite class?
Since
my all-time favorite subject is mathematics, I'll say my favorite
course was Calculus II with Professor Fowler. Taking the basic idea of
derivatives and anti-derivatives from Calculus I opened my eyes to all
the different applications that Calculus has to offer.
