Master of Science in Construction
As Georgia's largest accredited construction program, we cover a broad range of topics, offer
late afternoon and evening courses, and use flexible formats. Hands-on learning and our solid
reputation make our graduates market-ready for one of the nation's largest industries and one of
the region's high-growth professions. Between 2000 and 2005, forecasters project the strongest
five-year average demand for office and industrial construction in Atlanta. To advance this
booming industry, people increasingly turn to Southern Polytechnic's Master of Science degree in
construction.
Our program focuses on value engineering and key redevelopment issues such as conservation,
clean-up, compliance, and pollution prevention. We approach and solve problems creatively in the
classroom, using the latest tools for our projects -- robotics and automated processes, wireless
monitoring services, and global positioning systems.
Flexibility is key for our graduate students. We offer the master's program in Construction in
three formats: coursework with an eight-credit-hour project, coursework with a 12-credit-hour
thesis and coursework alone. Certificate programs with special scholarship options for Georgia
residents are available in project management, land development, and specialty (MEP) construction.
A master's degree in Construction from Southern Polytechnic is a prescription for success. Our
students have gone on to work with employers such as Archer-Western Contractors, Turner
Construction, Batson-Cook, Hines Interests, John Weiland Homes, and B&W Mechanical. And in the
future, our program's growing reputation will garner even more demand for SPSU graduates.
