Why study Information Technology
at SPSU?
Whether you're a full-time undergraduate student or a working professional pursuing a master's
degree, the Information Technology program offers a timeline to suit your schedule and your
academic and professional needs.
We offer undergraduate and graduate programs in Information Technology, both of which combine
the perfect mixture of computing and management courses with newer courses in Information
Technology. Graduate students who wish to obtain a degree while working full-time may schedule
their courses on nights and weekends.
The faculty
Our faculty are very active in many areas of research, including software engineering,
databases, ethics and copyright, programming languages, and of course, Yamacraw. Our faculty
consistently present papers at conferences, conduct workshops, and referee papers and textbooks.
Are there learning opportunities outside the classroom?
Our undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to co-op or intern with local
companies through the Information Technology program.
What can I do with an Information Technology degree?
Employment opportunities include positions in electronic commerce, web development, Windows
programming, and IT management.
Will I find employment?
Graduates of the Information Technology program work throughout metro Atlanta; many
international students enrolled in the graduate program return to their home countries, where
they find employment.
