Federal Financial Assistance
Federal Grants and Loans are also available. To obtain them, you should first fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, known as FAFSA. Information about FAFSA, as well as copies of the form may be found here. Filling out the FAFSA is necessary to establish eligibility for Stafford Loans, Parent Plus Loans, PELL Grants, and SEOG Grants. SPSU's school code for the FAFSA form is 001570.
Student loan information is also published by the Department of Education, and may be found here.
Please be aware that if you apply for a federal student loan, the loan will be submitted to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), and will be accesible by guaranty agencies, lenders, and institutions determined to be authorized users of the data system.
Other types of federal assistance include VA Benefits.
