If your a returning Educator, Welcome Back!
We're glad you are once again taking on the challenge and introducing your students to how cities work while strengthening their STEM skill sets. We look forward to working with you and your students again.

Future City is a fun and challenging inititative with proven results. We know it may seem daunting, and there is a learning curve, but we know it will become easier once you break down the instructions. Both Regional and National provide support in the form of Workshops, Handbooks, Webinars and Learning Blocks specially designed to make integrating Future City into the classroom easier.
Remember,you will give your students an introduction to city planning, design and differernt types of engineering. You will also strengthen their skill sets in writing, public speaking, teamwork, time management, problem solving and computer skills. Most importantly, they'll have fun as they stretch thier imaginations. We think you'll have fun too.

Did you know that Future City provides 'Learning Blocks' for the key aspects of the competition?
Learning Blocks are lesson plans with exercises and activities designed to develop skills and understandings that support the Future City initiative and STEM subject areas. Each Learning Block is composed of activities that include:
Each activity is organized to take around one class period. Activities can be used independently or in sequence to create a comprehensive unit

This website run by the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) is designed to provide Educators with a variety of tools to boost student’s math and science skills. It provides lesson plans, classroom activities, outreach programs and web resources.

You may want to send your students who would like to learn more about a career in engineering to this website. It is a guide to engineering careers. Funded by The National Science Foundation, Northrop Grumman Foundation, and the United Engineering Foundation the site is intended to encourage girls to consider engineering, but the information is equally valid for boys.
