The FUTURE CITY COMPETTION uses SimCity 4 Deluxe software for its VIRTUAL CITY component. We know that not every on is proficient in this gaming platform. Below are some helpful resources to get you started.

SIMCITY AND MAC PLATFORMS
Starting in 2012-13 EA is no longer producing a MAC version of its SimCity software. There are limited MAC version CD's on the market. If you school uses a MAC based platform and you already have SimCity uploaded on your server please do not delete it. If you do not already have a version on your server please contact the Regional Coordinator, we will attempt to locate a DVD for you to upload. Note that due to the limited number of DVDs in circulation, any DVD lent to a registered school must be returned to Future City Georgia or you will be charged for the cost of its replacement.
SIMCITY ACCESS: DOWNLOAD 'KEYS'
Starting in 2012-13 all registered schools and organizations will be given a SimCity download 'KEY' so they can download the software onto their servers. We will no longer be distributing CD's with the software.
Registered Educators will recieve Download 'Keys' via email from Naional. Download 'KEYS' will activate on August 1and will cease to be valid December 30 of the same year.
COMPATIBILITY
Always consult with your IT department prior to and during the install of your SimCity software. You want to make sure it will be available when and where your students need it. Firewall and network issues are the most frequent problems that come up.

If you are unfamiliar with the look of the game you can check out SCREEN SHOTS a collection of representational images from SimCity designs. As you can see, using predesigned buildings and components you can get a fairly realistic look for your FUTURE CITY design.

SAVING AND SUBMITTING YOUR VIRTUAL CITY
You've created your VIRTUAL FUTURE CITY now what? You will need to save your file and then send it the Georgia Regional Future City Steering Committee so that we can process it and distribute it to our judges.
You will need to send the entire MEDIUM CITY REGION FOLDER to ensure that all changes you have made to your region are seen by the Judges. If you don't, and changes you made are not recieved this may result in a lower score. You cannot resubmit your entry.
You must send the MEDIUM CITY REGION FOLDER from your MY DOCUMENTS/SIMCITY 4/REGIONS FOLDER.
