Check your Financial Aid
Status
- Go to SPSU home page www.SPSU.edu
- Click the “Banner Web” link on the left side
of the page
- Click “Login”
- Enter Student ID and PIN
- Your student ID can be found on https://accounts.spsu.edu
- Your PIN is originally set to your birthday
MMDDYY, you should change your PIN immediately (but, please remember it)
- Click “Student Services &
Financial Aid”
- Click “Financial Aid"
Accepting / Adjusting an Award
Letter
You can view, accept and
adjust your award letter online. Please follow the directions below to accept or
adjust your award.
- Go to SPSU home page www.SPSU.edu
- Click the “Banner Web” link on the left side
of the page
- Click “Login”
- Enter Student ID and PIN
- Your PIN is originally set to your birthday
MMDDYY, you should change your PIN immediately (but, please remember

- Click “Student Services &
Financial Aid”
- Click “Financial Aid”
- Click “Financial Aid Award
Letter”
- Check “Yes” then click
“Submit”
- Select a term then click “Submit”
- Some students may also have to select an aid
year then click “Submit”
Accept Award Letter – If you wish to accept the award letter click “Accept
Award Letter”. If you are accepting a student loan and are a first time
borrower at SPSU you will need to go to
www.studentloans.gov and complete
entrance counseling and electronically sign the Master Promissory Note
(MPN).

Decline or Adjust Award – If you wish to decline or adjust an award, then click
on “Decline or Adjust Award”. Select the award you wish to decline or adjust,
then select the term, then select if you wish to decline the amount or if you
wish to adjust. If you are adjusting the amount then enter the amount you wish
to receive. This amount must be lower than the offered amount. Click “Submit
Choices”. Once the changes have been made, an e-mail will be sent to your SPSU
e-mail account. You will then need to review your new electronic award and
accept the changes. No paper award letters will be mailed to you.
Common Questions I do not want loans, but I do want the rest of my
award – Click on the “Decline or
Adjust Award” link on the electronic award letter. Select the loan you would
like to decline, select “all year” for the term, select decline total amount,
then click “Submit Choices”. Repeat this process for other loans you wish to
decline.
If you have question about your award you may email Financial Aid at
finaid@spsu.edu. If you think you are eligible
for the HOPE Scholarship and it is not on your award, you may request a HOPE
Scholarship evaluation by sending an email to
finaid@spsu.edu. Make sure in that email you state your name, SPSU ID
number, list all colleges ever attended and that you are requesting a HOPE
evaluation.
To be eligible for HOPE you must have graduated from high
school as a HOPE Scholar having a 3.0 or higher grade point average or have
attempted at least 30 college credits with a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
You must be a legal Georgia Resident and have completed the HOPE application at
www.gacollege411.org
