You must have applied for admissions and have a current SPSU ID.

SPSU awards scholarships to qualified students based on academic merit and financial need. Need-based scholarships take both financial need and academic criteria into account, while academic scholarships are based solely upon a student's specific academic program. Below is a list of SPSU Scholarships:

Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) Academic Scholarship:

    If you are a freshman applicant, you must meet all conditions for regular admissions and have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.4 or higher. If you are a transfer applicant, you must have 30 hours with a 3.4 cumulative GPA.

Barnett Scholars Program:

    Undergraduate: Must show academic promise and have a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must enroll full-time and pursue a BS or BA Degree. Graduate: Recipient must have BS or BA Degree from an accredited institution, have been accepted into a graduate degree program of full-time study and maintain a 3.0 GPA in graduate course work.

Gordon K. Morton Scholarship:

    The recipient must be a full-time student with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better.

Milton R. Ratner Foundation Scholarship:

    The recipient must be a full-time student with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better. This scholarship is also awarded on the basis of need.

Dobbins Officers (Air Force Base) Wives Club:

    Scholarship assistance is awarded to sons and daughters of AFB personnel (including National Guard). In the absence of an eligible son or daughter, the scholarship may be awarded to the spouse of a Dobbins employee. Recipients must be enrolled full-time.

Marietta Rotary Club:

    This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit.

Clark M. Lambert Scholarship:

    This scholarship is awarded on the basis of need.

Marietta Kiwanis (Fred and Drucilla Beck):

    The recipient must be (1) beyond his/her freshman year, (2) able to demonstrate community service, (3) a resident of Cobb/Marietta, (4) able to demonstrate academic success, and (5) a full-time student.

Goizueta Foundation Scholarship:

    The recipient must be a Hispanic/Latino student whose family currently resides in the United States and has a financial need.

The La-Vern Smith-McCier Memorial Scholarship:

    The recipient must be majoring in industrial engineering technology with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. The recipient must be at least a junior and must be a member of the National Society of Black Engineers.

The John Talbert/WSB Radio Group Scholarship:

    The recipient must be a full-time student majoring in electrical and computer engineering technology with an emphasis on the technical side of radio engineering. The recipient must be at the junior or senior level. Applicants with financial need will be given first preference.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

  • Be of Hispanic heritage
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident
  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time
  • Have earned at least 12 undergraduate units
  • Have a minimum (GPA) of 3.00
  • Have applied for Federal Financial Aid
  • Be pursuing first undergraduate or graduate degree

Student Aid Foundation Interest-Free Loans

  • Be a female student
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident
  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time
  • Have a minimum (GPA) of 2.50
  • Go to http://www.studentaidfoundation.org/apply.html and complete the application

ASCO Numatics Scholarship

  • Award Amount: $5,000
  • Deadline: June 30, 2009
  • Full time student in an engineering, instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, or automation discipline. Must be in sophomore year and have at least a 3.2 GPA. Must be a US citizen or legal US resident.
