All regular employees of Southern Polytechnic, except those specifically excluded
by an agreement with the Social Security Administration, are covered by the Social
Security Act. This Act provides aid to dependent children, disability payments, retirement
and death benefits. Deductions are made from your salary for the employee’s share
of the cost. The university pays the rest. The Human Resources Office or the local
Social Security Office can assist you with details of the coverages.
