Information on campus closings will be communicated by Hornet Alert, University Website, Local Television and Radio.

Where do I sign up for Hornet Alert?

Students, faculty and staff can sign up for Hornet Alert at http://spsu.edu/hornetalert

What do I do during a tornado warning?

If a tornado warning is issued, immediately seek shelter on the lowest level, in the most interior room without windows.  Continue to monitor your cell phone for Hornet Alert updates.

Where can I find information during an emergency on campus?

Updated incident information will be provided to you by Hornet Alert and the University's website homepage.

What should I do if a fire alarm goes off in my building?

Immediately leave the building using the nearest safe exit (do not use elevators) and call (678) 915-5555 to report the alarm.

What should I do if I see a suspicious person or article in my building?

Immediately call SPSU Police at (678) 915-5555 and provide a detailed description and location of the suspicious person or item.

Who can be a Building Coordinator?

Any full-time SPSU faculty or staff member.
