Courses used to fulfill the guided core elective requirement may not be used to satisfy any other requirement of the core curriculum. It is strongly recommended that the courses PHYS 2211 and PHYS 2212 be used to fulfill this requirement. Guided core electives must be one of the following:

Science Electives 
Must consist of science courses with laboratories. Upon completing this requirement the student must have completed PHYS 2211 and PHYS 2212. Students who have completed sixteen semester hours of science courses with laboratories including PHYS 2211 and PHYS 2212 may use remaining hours as free electives.

Computer Science Requirement 
A higher level computer programming language. This requirement may be satisfied with a suitable programming course in Pascal, C, or C++. 

Students who are able to demonstrate a mastery of a higher level programming language by the completion of one of the courses described above or by other means may use remaining hours in this requirement as free electives.
