With the exception of the final units of high school English, social studies and/or mathematics with qualifying SAT or ACT scores, a university course may not be used to fulfill the University System of Georgia’s CPC requirements.

Students with SAT 1 Mathematics scores of at least 530 or ACT Mathematics scores of at least 22/23 who have not completed the final unit of mathematics may be permitted to fulfill those high school requirements with Math 1111 College Algebra. Generally, Joint Enrollment students will have completed their CPC mat requirements before their senior year and will be prepared to take Math 1113 Precalculus or a higher level math course. High school advanced algebra/trig taken in high school should provide better preparation for majors requiring calculus and should be taken no later than the junior year. Joint Enrollment students who plan to register for a math course should first take the Math Placement Exam (MAT) which is given each term on Southern Polytechnic State University's campus.

Students with SAT 1 Verbal scores of at least 530 or ACT scores of 23 who have not completed the final unit of high school English and/or Social Studies may be permitted to fulfill these high school  requirements with the appropriate college courses taken through the Joint Enrollment program. These courses include English 1101, English 1102, Political Science 1101, and Economics 1101.

In Natural Science and Foreign Language, all Joint Enrollment students must have already completed all college prep high school courses to be eligible for Joint Enrollment in these areas.  Joint Enrollment students must also complete all prerequisite course requirements to be eligible to register for Southern Polytechnic State University courses.

Eligibility for advanced math, foreign language, or fine arts is determined by the academic department.
