SPSU Sports Medicine

The SPSU Sports Medicine staff would like to welcome you to our website. We hope that by visiting our site you are able to learn more about SPSU and its sports medicine staff along with gathering any information that you may need.

The SPSU Sports Medicine staff consists of One full-time certified athletic trainer (ATC) that assists with coverage needs as well as a variety of other tasks.

The staff ATC works under the auspices of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) and the Georgia Athletic Trainers Association (GATA). The program is also greatly assisted by Dr. Michael Kuczmanski M.D., our team physician and liaison with Pinnacle Orthopedics, and Dr. Heather Davis, our team chiropractor with The Wellpath Center. We also have the privilege of working with a team of highly qualified medical professionals in the area that give top quality care to the athletes we refer.

The athletic training facilities at SPSU provide care for all injured SPSU athletes. The athletic trainer is on duty for three seasons a year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). The athletic trainer uses their skills and knowledge to prevent, evaluate, treat, rehabilitate, and perform functional exams on athletic injuries incurred by our student-athletes during practices and games.
