1. Includes a narrative that (a) shows how the details of
a faculty member's teaching, service, professional development, and academic
achievement fit into an overall plan and (b) documents the noteworthiness of
contributions.
2. Is supported by clear, relevant documentation.
3. States clearly which of the other evaluation criteria,
besides teaching, are being presented for consideration as "noteworthy."
4. Presents an analysis and discussion of data that are
included.
5. Provides sufficient information for the reader to
understand how the faculty member approaches teaching and, if applicable,
academic achievement (scholarship) through a process that includes clear goals,
adequate preparation, appropriate methods, significant results, effective
presentation, and reflective critique.
6. Includes letters from peer committees, deans, and the
academic vice president that provide objective evaluations of the faculty
member and a recommendation based on the presentation in the package.
7. Includes at least two letters from appropriate experts
from outside SPSU, who provide objective evaluations of work they have reviewed
related to the candidate's research, scholarship, publications and/or other
contributions to academic achievement and professional development.
