Proposal to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences for the Selection of Peer Committees, as amended:
"One committee member is elected to the school peer committee from each department in
the School of Arts and Sciences during the first week of Fall Semester. This representative
should be a full Professor but may be chosen from tenured Associate Professors. Three full
Professors are elected at-large by the tenure-track faculty of the school to serve on the
School Peer committees for ACC, CSE, and ETM. In the absence of eligible full Professors,
representatives may be elected from tenured Associate Professors as long as the majority
of the committee members hold the rank of Professor."
Presentation of new faculty and staff.
Dean's comments: Alan spoke of the A&S achievements, the need to command numbers, the A&S priority for
hiring faculty because of documented need, the campus-wide facility repairs and new
staff, as well as the budgetary issues and their impact on the School this AY.
