Rotary grants for University Teachers

The Marietta Metro Rotary Club is a sponsor of the national Rotary Grants for University Teachers program. As a member of the club, I would like to invite SPSU faculty who are interested in teaching for a semester or two at a university or college of choice in a low-income country to submit a grant application.

You may request a $12,500 grant for 3-5 months of service, or a $22,500 grant for 6-10 months of service. Application deadline for the 2009-2010 academic year is
June 1, 2008 . If you are interested in participating and the 2009-2010 academic year is not an option, the program is sponsored annually.

The objectives of the program are to build understanding while strengthening higher education in low-income countries; promote the exchange of teaching methods and ideas between teachers at grant recipients' home and host institutions; and advance development in low-income countries by sponsoring educators to teach subjects of practical benefit to the host country.

For an informational brochure/application please contact Dr. Ron Dempsey in the SPSU Foundation/Development Office (extension 7364).
