The Student Center is the hub of on-campus life at SPSU -- providing
social and cultural activities for students.

Bookstore
The bookstore,
located on the lower level of the Student Center, sells textbooks, software,
reference books, school supplies, calculators, and personal items.

Post Office
Southern Polytechnic has a branch office of the
U.S. Postal Service, which provides mail service to all departments on
campus. This full-service facility offers the purchase of stamps and the
sending and receiving of registered letters and packages.
Students living in residence halls have individual post office boxes
assigned to them at no charge at the time they check into the halls.
Students not living in the residence halls may rent a post office box
at a fee of $5.00 per term.
Recreation Room
There are 7 pool tables, four ping-pong tables,
a foosball table, and a variety of video games, vending machines, and board
games available in the game room. It is a great place to enjoy some friendly
competition between classes. Minimal charges are assessed for pool, ping-pong,
and video games. The College Television Network is also available for viewing
on 10 video screens.
Meeting Rooms
There are 12 meeting rooms available in the SPSU
Student Center in a variety of sizes. Five people can assemble around a
conference table; or, a group of 300 may enjoy a dance or event in the
ballroom. Audio/visual equipment is available. Our 467 seat theater has
a professional sound and light system, projection booth, and dressing rooms.
Dining Area
Nearly 700 people may be seated in the downstairs
dining areas. Some are in areas where students may view videos or listen
to music. Other areas are more secluded providing excellent study or relaxation
spots.
Television Lounges
We have two large screen televisions downstairs
int the Student Center. One occassionally offers weekly videos provided
by the Campus Activities Board (CAB),
which play continually during the day. The other set offers over 35 channels
of cable television. The nearby Cyber Cafe offers Internet & E-mail
access from 8 computers.
Student Offices
There are 26 offices occupied by student organizations
including the Student Government Association (SGA);
the student newspaper, The Sting;
and the student radio station, WGHR.
Minimal rental payments enable groups to have an office in the center of
campus life. |
