Deans Council Minutes

PRESENT: Bill Barnes, Dick Aynsley, Joel Fowler, Alan Gabrielli, Mike Murphy, Sandy Pfeiffer, Dawn Ramsey, Judy Waits, Steve Hamrick
 
 
1. Faculty/Staff Kick-off:
The faculty/staff kick-off will be August 15. A schedule will be issued soon, but here is a tentative one:
 

8:30 a.m. Coffee/juice
9 a.m. - 10 a.m. Convocation
10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Division meetings
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Lunch and "CTE Showcase"
1:30 p.m. -  Open for school/program meetings
 
2. Standards of Academic Conduct:
Bob Harbort and Bob Brown prepared a draft of Standards of Academic Conduct. The deans are to ask their faculty how the document might be used. In the meantime, we'll make an effort to see that presentations at new-student orientations include some information concerning academic conduct.
 
3. Positions:
Fowler gave deans information on tenure-track, non-tenure-track, and one-year positions that can be filled. Also, we'll soon purchase a combo local ad that lists our needs for adjunct and one-year positions in Academic Affairs. The deans are to contact Joel about information they want included in the ad.
 
4. Vacation Plans:
Deans are to email Waits with their summer vacation plans, indicating who will be in charge while they are away.
 
5. CAP Team:
Hamrick informed the deans that the CAP team will be on campus the last week of June. This team is the degree-audit arm of Banner.
