1. Foundation Campaign:
Pat Garrett and Maggie Gillespie
talked to the ALC about the upcoming foundation campaign for faculty and
staff. Garrett's goal is 100% participation. The foundation/alumni goal
is $500,000. Garrett encourages everyone to give something as this is helping
us directly at SPSU.
2. Advisory Boards:
Pfeiffer asked that programs
reactivate their advisory boards if they haven't done so already.
3. Deans:
Each school dean gave a
brief talk on what is happening in his or her program.
4. RETP:
Pfeiffer stated that SPSU
has been approved to be added to the list of schools working with Georgia
Tech in the Regional Engineering Transfer Program. It is hoped that we
will be able to retain some of these students once they enroll at SPSU.
5. Summer Issues:
Program heads are to put
in writing to Fowler the appropriate amount of reassigned time needed for
summer. Please do this in fractions of your 9 months' salary. Have to Fowler
by Thursday, November 8, 2001. Please be specific as to what it takes to
run your program.
6. Faculty Summer Salary:
Pfeiffer will meet soon
with the President about faculty summer salaries so that program heads
can plan for summer classes.
7. Equity Study:
The faculty equity study
is going forward. The RFP will go out soon. The study will not be by person-as
the MGT report was--but instead by position.
8. Next Meeting:
The next ALC meeting will
be December 6, 2001. Program heads are to come prepared to discuss issues,
problems, challenges, and questions arising with respect to scholarship
in each program.
9. Technology Fee:
Pfeiffer will find out more
about the allocation of the technology fee.
