Item 1: Building J Update

Burt Matthews and Monty Murphy gave an update on the progress of Building J and reported that Phase 1A is almost complete and that starting on December 7^th, faculty and staff may begin moving back upstairs. Monty Murphy reported that there will be no heat or air on the third floor for most of December. Phase 1B will not require faculty and staff to move to the basement since the work will be completed by January 3, 2006. Phase 2A building residents will begin moving to the basement between January 3^rd and 13^th.

Item 2: Deans Council and ALC Meeting Schedule

Dr. Szafran presented a tentative meeting schedule for the remainder of the academic year for discussion and approval. It was decided that the Deans Council and Academic Leadership Council would meet less frequently over the summer. The only change to the tentative meeting schedule was to add Phyllis Weatherly to the January 11, 2006, ALC agenda. Szafran asked whether the faculty might like to have a one-day faculty retreat during the break between spring and summer semesters to allow for sustained discussion on some key issues, and asked the Council for input. After a brief discussion, it was decided that Dr. Szafran would take the idea to Mark Stevens and the faculty senate for further consideration.

Item 3: Other Items

Deans Council meetings will be held in B 120 (Administrative Conference Room) beginning in January due to construction in Building J.
